New Bobcat Harvest Record in Nebraska

Well, the data needs to be checked for accuracy, but it appears that the 2011/2012 bobcat trapping season in Nebraska may be a new record. Estimate, at present, is 1,700 bobcats harvested by Nebraska trappers.

This is an outstanding achievement and shows the abundance of Nebraska’s renewable fur resources. Trapping is just one part of the green economy that American’s should be proud.

Stephen M. Vantassel is the secretary for the Nebraska Fur Harvesters Association.
