Took a different approach this season, and have focused just on my kids doing the trapping. The only thing I have done is helped them actually set the traps. They have really done all the work themselves, such as dug holes, pounded in stakes, picked locations, all the baiting and lures. It has been an absolute blast to watch their faces at each check. Tally so far with only 4 checks is: 14 muskrats, 2 coons, 1 badger, 1 #40 beaver they snared at a dam crossover, 1 mink, 1 possum, and a skunk. My two sons are only 11 and 6 years old. The pictures we took have been priceless, and I think I have hooked them in for life!
